The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Chair in Monetary Policy Studies at the University of Pretoria is dedicated to supporting the SARB’s institutional mandate through rigorous scholarly research and advanced postgraduate training in economics relevant to monetary policy.
We invite applications for two Post-doctoral Research Fellow positions. These are fixed-term appointments for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.
Fellows will contribute to the research collaboration between the Chair and the SARB Research Department, as well as to the Chair’s postgraduate programme. The positions offer excellent opportunities for independent research and engagement with national and international academic networks.
Requirements:
- A PhD in Economics (or imminent completion).
- A keen interest in macroeconomic policy-making.
- Specialization in macro modelling, macro-econometrics and macroeconomic forecasting.
- Strong communication skills.
Remuneration:
The net annual salary is ZAR 650,000, which affords a comfortable standard of living in Pretoria. An additional research and travel budget is provided.
