The Department of Economics at Uppsala University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position Economics. The candidate should be ready to begin no later than September 2026.

The Department is a highly committed research department with full scale graduate and undergraduate programs within Scandinavia’s oldest university, conveniently located only 20 minutes from Stockholm Arlanda International airport. The Department hosts several strong research groups in, e.g., labor economics, public economics and macroeconomics. The Department has a strong international reputation and has recruited on the international job market since 2008.

Applicants should have a PhD in Economics or have an expected PhD completion date no later than September 2026 and must demonstrate excellence in research. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed virtually at the European Job Market for Economists, December 15-17, 2025. For candidates based in Sweden we will also be interviewing at the SNS job market.
