The Chair of Macroeconomics focuses on research primarily at the intersection of environmental economics, international trade and competitiveness, analyzing issues such as the effects of environmental policies on trade flows, innovation activity, and labor markets. The teaching aims to provide students with a thorough understanding of the methods of economic reasoning and modeling in the field of macroeconomics, international finance and economic policy. Our classes should enable students to see the broader picture when deciding on issues of strategic importance.

Your tasks:

Your area of responsibility includes participation in research, teaching and transfer:

  • Research: Participation in and later responsibility for research projects using quantitative methods
  • Teaching: Support in the conception of courses, implementation of exercise units within the courses and supervision of students in seminar and master's theses
  • Transfer: You support various projects in the field of cooperation with companies

Your profile:

  • You have completed a master's degree in economics, or similar with above-average success.
  • You are characterized by analytical thinking skills, and a keen interest in scientific work.
  • You are comfortable with applying quantitative methods.
  • You convince with initiative and commitment paired with a conscientious way of working.
  • Fluent written and spoken English required. Fluent German rounds off your profile.
