The Department of Economics at the University of Konstanz invites applications for a postdoctoral position in Labor Economics and related fields. The position is full-time and will be filled for three years (start date: September 1, 2026). Remuneration is based on TV-L E13 (100%). Candidates should demonstrate clear potential to produce high-quality research suitable for leading academic journals. We welcome applications from candidates working in Labor Economics and closely related areas.

About the Research Environment

The position will be embedded in a vibrant research environment at Konstanz. The successful candidate will interact closely with Prof. Sebastian Findeisen (Chair of Economic Policy) and collaborators. The candidate will work on their own projects and jointly with other members of the research group on topics including (but not limited to):

  • labor markets and inequality
  • technology, automation, and the future of work
  • firms, wages, and institutions (e.g., worker representation, bargaining)
  • social mobility and intergenerational outcomes
  • labor and international trade, migration, and regional disparities
  • public economics and policy evaluation

The position carries limited teaching obligations, allowing a strong focus on research. The successful candidate will have access to high-quality data infrastructure and excellent computing resources.
