NHH in Bergen, Norway, invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor position for seven years in Macroeconomics with a focus on International Macroeconomics and Finance at the Department of Economics.
We are seeking a highly talented candidate with a key interest in applied research and capabilities of using state-of-the-art techniques. A successful candidate should have a strong publication record and/or highly promising work in the pipeline. You should also be an excellent teacher and have good skills in communicating insights from economic research. Outreach to society and dissemination are also of importance for the position.
The department has around 50 faculty members and 30 PhD students. The environment is international with a large share of young faculty. A successful candidate will be a part of the Macro research group at the department, which is a strong and growing group with a large international network. Other core fields at the department are applied microeconomics, behavioral economics, development economics, economic history, industrial organisation, international economics and labour economics. To be qualified for the tenure-track position, it should not be more than five years since the PhD degree was achieved. For candidates undertaking the PhD, the expected completion of the PhD thesis should be no later than the date of commencement.
The position will involve a competitive teaching load, which also includes some graduate student supervision and administrative duties. Faculty members at NHH are expected to be good teachers. NHH offers the opportunity to participate in a program for university pedagogy, and candidates hired for tenure-track positions must take one basic module of the program during the fixed-term period.
The position is based in Bergen, Norway.

· Annual salary of NOK 726 200 – 784 000 (Assistant Professor) or NOK 784 000 – 840 700 (Associate Professor), depending on level of competence/length of service. The salary may be adjusted during 2025.
